Parokya ni Edgar Rocks Jollibee's Yum T-shirt Day

One of the country's biggest rock bands, Parokya ni Edgar, definitely rocked the house at the Jollibee main office in Ortigas last May 8, as they graced the special Jollibee YUM T-Shirt Day participated in by all Jollibee employees.

The latest Jollibee Yumburger endorsers were one with the Jollibee family as they sported the cool and hip Yumburger statement shirts and went floor-to-floor to greet and pose for souvenir photos with employees. The shirts carried lines from the song Iisang Sarap, the cool jingle written and performed by the band for Jollibee's Yumburger campaign.

Celebrating the Yumburger
"The Yum T-shirt Day is an extension of the whole Yumburger campaign," said Aileen Ricasata, Jollibee Marketing Manager. "Apart from further supporting and strengthening the brand, it also entices our colleagues here at the company to promote the Yumburger themselves by proudly wearing the Yum slogan T-shirts."

Ricasata states that the statement shirts, which come in three different designs, reflect the Yumburger's authenticity and real "Pinoy" quality, two characteristics which it shares with its target market -- today's Filipino teens. Also, she states that the t-shirts allow its wearers to express themselves fully and celebrate their individuality.

Jollibee's Yumburger, just like the real Pinoy teen evolves through the years, but still manages to carry that distinct langhap-sarap taste you've grown to love. At its very core, patty pa lang, masarap na.

Jollibee and Parokya: A Perfect Match
Jollibee employees were only too happy to participate in the activity as even its Founder and chairman of Jollibee Foods Corporation Tony Tan Caktiong, President Ernesto Tanmantiong as well as senior executives were seen wearing the shirt as they came out in their offices to meet the new Yumburger endorsers.

"Everyone here was thrilled to catch a glimpse of the band," shares Kay Segismundo, Jollibee Brand Manager for Yumburgers. "They're one of the Philippines' biggest rock bands and they have left an indelible mark on Pinoy culture, just like the Jollibee Yumburger." "Iisang Sarap", the newest Yumburger jingle is upbeat, catchy and reminiscent of Parokya ni Edgar's music while mirroring the values of today's youth.

"The song basically speaks about today's teens," explains Segismundo. "We believe that real Pinoy teens are cool and act without any pretensions. They strive to do well in school and are respectful of their parents."

Indeed, just like your favorite Jollibee Yumburger, today's real Pinoy teens abide by good values and know good and clean fun- characteristics and values that are also undeniably Jollibee.
